Visionary Health Initiative: Eye Checkup Camp Makes a Difference!

On the 6th of August, a Eye Checkup Camp was scheduled at Panchayat Bhawan, Bhalla Farm No-8, Shyampur, Rishikesh, organized by the esteemed Nirmal Ashram Eye Institute. With a dedicated team of expert doctors and optometrists, around 80 patients underwent thorough eye checkups during the camp, held from 9 am till 1 pm.

Amidst the rising cases of eye flu, particularly in Northern India, the doctors took the opportunity to educate people about essential precautions and treatment options for this condition.

During the screening process, our proficient doctors diagnosed six cases of cataract, providing invaluable guidance and advising them on the need for surgery. The Nirmal Ashram Eye Institute offered to perform the surgeries free of cost, reaffirming their commitment to serving the community.

The camp’s seamless and effective execution was made possible by the institute’s able management. In attendance were esteemed dignitaries, including Gram Pradhan Mr. Vijaypal Jaithuda and Chetra Panchayat Sadasya Mr. Prabhakar Painuli, who wholeheartedly supported the event, ensuring its smooth functioning.

Eye Donation Awareness Program Creates a Visionary Impact!

On August 4th, as part of our series to raise awareness for eye donation, Nirmal Mission for Vision Society, in collaboration with Sant Nikka Singh Public School Trust Society, organized a camp at S. N. S Public School in Karnal. The event aimed to enlighten our young generation about the significance of eye donation.

With a distinguished lineup of dignitaries, the program commenced with utmost enthusiasm. Dr. S. N. Suri, the esteemed Chairman, graced the occasion alongside S. Gurbinder Singh, Mrs. Renu Suri (Conveyer of School advisory committee), Sardar Kuldeep Singh Kalra (Director), Dr. K. L. Dang, Mr. Rajesh Gupta (Senior Manager Nirmal Dham Trust Society), Mrs. Sarika Taluja (I.T.I), Mr. Waseem Khan (NEI), and other esteemed guests who also honored the event with their presence. The event was further elevated by the gracious presence of esteemed school principals, including Mrs. Kavita Arora from S. N. S Public School, Model Town, Mrs. Manju Yadav from Zarifa Farm, and Mrs. Sonia Gawa from Sadar Bazar, who ensured that the occasion was filled with warmth and hospitality.

At the conclusion of the event, Dr. K. L. Dang extended his heartfelt gratitude through a vote of thanks. The campaign ended in a serene and joyous manner, with the distribution of Frooti and Parsad among all students.

Visit by ASHA workers to Nirmal Ashram Eye Institute

A group of 25 Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers from Block Doiwala,
Dehradun, visited NEI on 10 July 2023, as part of the Institute’s outreach initiative to connect
with community health workers and utilize their opinion leadership to (i). generate awareness
about various ophthalmic conditions, and to (ii). combat avoidable blindness among the
communities they serve.
The group visit began with an address by the Institute’s General Manager, Mr. Ajay Sharma, in
which the ASHA workers were provided a detailed introduction to NEI and the services it offers.
They were subsequently taken on a round of the hospital during which they interacted with the
hospital staff members in various departments.
Subsequently, all of them underwent basic vision testing at the Institute’s optometry department.
Following lunch and prior to their departure from NEI, the Institute Management exhorted all of
them to spread awareness about ophthalmic health and avoidable blindness in their respective
communities.
NEI is committed to deepen its outreach among community health workers across those districts
in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh where it regularly organizes eye
screening camps.

Chabeel Organized to Commemorate Martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji

To commemorate the 417th Martyrdom Anniversary of the 5 th Sikh Guru, Shri Arjan Dev Ji, Chabeel Day was organized at the Nirmal Ashram Eye Institute (NEI), Rishikesh on Tuesday,23.05.2023, in the truest traditions of Sikh History.
As is customary, cool sherbet and parshad were distributed among patients, their attendants and the employees of NEI.
H.H. Mahant Baba Ram Singh Ji of Nirmal Ashram, Rishikesh exhorted that the attainment of Prabhu is possible only by traversing the path as suggested by the Guru. Sant Baba Jodh Singh Ji, General Secretary, Nirmal Ashram, Rishikesh opined that the martyrdom of Guru Shri Arjan Dev Ji marked the most supreme sacrifice, and is the gold standard in Sikh History.
All members of NEI pray that the Holy Guidance and Benevolence of the Guru is always bestowed upon Nirmal Ashram, its Sister Institutions and all their staff members.

THE EYE IS THE JEWEL OF THE BODY

With this thought we took our students of class 1 to the NEI on 12th April 2023. All the 140 students along with their class teachers
leading up with the headmistress Mrs. Neeru Arora reached to the NIRMAL ASHRAM EYE INSTITUTE . Kids were very excited as this was their first trip after school reopens . NEI is surrounded with the beautiful greenery which is very relaxing on that sunny day.Mr. Atamprakash ji(Bauji) has given some tips to the students so that they can keep their eyes healthy. He advised students about the minimum use of mobile phones. Our children were listening him very carefully and promised to obey his advice. After this students and teachers took the round of the hospital. Children were very excited as they were visiting an eye hospital for the first time.
After this children got little tired ,so they were served with Prasad given by Hon. Maharaj ji. The trip was ended with the smile on the
face of each student.

World Optometry Day

WORLD OPTOMETRY DAY OBSERVED AT NEI

Nirmal Ashram Eye Institute, Rishikesh observed the World Optometry Day on Thursday,
23.03.2023. A get-together was organized by the Optometry Department to mark the occasion.
At the function, the Management and Doctors appreciated the relentless services being rendered
by the Institute’s optometrists, ably led by Mr. Shashi Shekhar Singh, and observed that their
dedication was instrumental in NEI’s Mission of serving humanity.

NEI Organizes Glaucoma Screening Camp

To observe the forthcoming World Glaucoma Week, Nirmal Ashram Eye Institute (NEI), Rishikesh organized a Glaucoma Screening camp for the residents of Rishikesh town on Saturday, 04.03.2023. The said camp was organized at Nirmal Eye Clinic, located on Lane no. 03, Adarsh Gram, Dehradun Road at Rishikesh.

A total of 30 patients visited the camp, of which 6 were diagnosed with glaucoma and 6 with cataract, all of whom were referred to NEI for further investigation.

Dr. Asif Khan, Medical Superintendent and Glaucoma & Anterior Segment Consultant personally checked-up all visiting patients. He was ably assisted by a team comprising 02 optometrists and 02 support staff.

All patients, who visited the camp, and their families were appreciative of NEI to have conducted the aforementioned camp. They expressed their gratitude to H.H. Mahant Baba Ram Singh Ji Maharaj, Sant Baba Jodh Singh Ji Maharaj and NEI for fighting avoidable blindness and ensuring good ophthalmic health to the residents of Rishikesh since 2005.
